Disposable Masks | MARINE POLLUTION

Updated: Mar 17, 2021

This pandemic brought several challenges for humanity, having to adapt, using plastics, its new friend.

In spite of everything, many new plastics are being discarded and abandoned on the streets, ditches and in the oceans.

With the use of masks and gloves, the islands of waste that already existed in the oceans continue to increase more and more.

Since 1950, the planet has produced 6.3 billion tons of plastic, and 91% of this total value has never been recycled, that is, it has been thrown away (in the sea).

The Covid-19 pandemic brought more problems in relation to marine pollution, since more plastic was produced and more plastic was polluted and poured into the sea.
